She’s beem a facilitator with Vipassana Support International, and has led many of the one-day meditation retreats VSI offers at the Santa Monica Zen Center each month (on the 4th Saturday) -- in addition to her private classes & workshops. Stephanie founded (with Pam Tarlow) the Mindful Eating Support Group which meets every Monday night (7:00-8:30pm) at the Mt. Olive church (14th & Ocean Park) in Santa Monica where mindfulness is used to approach the complex issues that arise with and around food for so many people. Stephanie has trained with Shinzen Young (Break-Through Pain & Science of Enlightenment) and wrote the study-guide that accompanies his “Talks on Teaching” tape series. She has been interviewed on KPFK by Roy Tuckman on “Something’s Happening” -- who also mentions her classes on the air in addition to playing humorous poems she has written about Shinzen’s teachings. Stephanie is known for teaching mindfulness techniques with insight, humor & compassion. |
